We are so grateful for the patience and support you have shown us during the COVID19 pandemic. We feel fortunate to have continued seeing patients over Telehealth (Zoom and a few phone calls) and hope you will consider Telehealth a great option continuing in the future for quick lab review appointments and times when we can save you a trip to the office! We, of course, also love seeing your smiling faces in person in clinic! Please continue to ensure that you are not sick, wear a mask, and maintain physical distance if another patient is in the waiting room when you come in to clinic for an appointment.
Alex and Dr. Van Kirk continue holding down the clinic “fort”. Please use patient portal messaging and email when possible for communication, as Alex may not be able to answer the phone if she’s busy with a patient. Please do leave a phone message if you call, and you can be guaranteed to hear back from Alex quickly (within 24 hours normal business days, and USUALLY MUCH FASTER).
We are also adjusting to new physical clinic space hours. We will post closures on HLM Facebook and verbalize closures on our phone message for short summer breaks. Current hours: Monday through Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm, closed lunch 12:30-1:30pm. Friday 8:00am-3:00pm, lunch 12:30-1:30pm, and we’ll be working remotely (physical clinic space will not be open on Fridays; but, you can still reach us via email/patient portal/phone and refills, questions, and scheduling will be managed).
Given tight scheduling in trying to accommodate a healthy load of patients, please understand that we do not have a lot of space for last minute rescheduling, and that it may be a couple weeks out (or more) before we can get you back in, though we always do our best to be as timely as possible. Please also be sure to cancel your appointment if you cannot make it; please help us use that space for another person by kindly letting us know 24 hours ahead of time (and avoid a $75 no show fee!).
In other news, we are excited to be transitioning to a new Electronic Health Record (EHR). This will be a big task, but one that we feel is worthwhile to fine-tune your clinic experience. This EHR will also have patient portal messaging options and electronic check in that can be done via iPad at clinic. This will be a learning curve for all of us, but don’t worry, we’ll help you along the way!
